Splitting
Section titled “Splitting”Split the current tab to see two or more terminals side by side:
| Shortcut | |
|---|---|
| ⌘D | Split Right |
| ⇧⌘D | Split Down |
| ⇧⌘W | Close Split Pane |
Or drag another tab onto the terminal to put it in a split. Each pane is its own session — splitting a tab to the same host opens a second, independent shell. When you close a pane, the others take its space.
Broadcast input
Section titled “Broadcast input”Broadcast Input to All Panes (⇧⌘B) sends what you type to every pane in the tab at once. Use it to run the same command on several servers: split a tab, connect each pane to a different host, turn on broadcast, and type once.
While it’s on, the tab shows that typing goes to every pane. Press ⇧⌘B again to turn it off — and check before running anything destructive.
